James Arness' nationality
Alta, Norway 11.January 1998. I don't know if it is you who wrote so much about James Arness, but there is definitely one thing there which is totally wrong. Under the question "What was James Arness' nationality?" the answer stands "Swedish". This is WRONG. James Arness' family was NORWEGIAN. I remember in the 1980's I read many interviews with J.A. in Norwegian newspapers and magazines, and it was always emphasized that his family is Norwegian. And I can assure you that there is no family by the name Aurness in Sweden, the name is in it's character Norwegian. The diftong "au" doesn't exist in Sweden other than in loaned words. Greetings from Erik Lie, Alta, Norway, erlie@online.no EDITOR'S NOTE: THE CHANGE WAS MADE. |
