CCC Christmas Conference
Professor Robert J. Marks II, University of Washington Campus Crusade for Christ Advisor
This is my second Christmas conference ... and definitely won't be my last. I love the exuberant spirit of hundreds of Christian college kids gathering to celebrate and learn about our Lord. It's infectious. The teaching is first rate, the speakers world class and the on-stage campus competition on New Years Eve is something few observers will ever forget. I have watched Dick Clark a few times and, yes, am old enough to remember Guy Lombardo. The antics and entertainment skills of the student skits leave these guys in the dust.
The teaching was awesome - especially the powerful message of Darrell Scott whose daughter professed her faith in Christ before being murdered at the Columbine massacre. (See http://rachelscott.com/).
Many spiritually curious students attend the Christmas conference. During the week, I was honored to pray with three students who made their decision to trust Christ. There are few greater nor more exhilarating events.
Other Campus Crusade Faculty Advisors attended the conference. We shared our love of Christ and swapped experiences and ideas for ministering on campus. We agreed unanimously to do it again next year and invite other Christian faculty. I anticipate it will be another unforgettable experience.
