CCC Christmas Conference

Professor Barbara Reider, Campus Crusade Faculty Advisor for the University of Montana

I am the faculty advisor for Campus Crusade for Christ at the University of Montana, and the 2001 Christmas Conference was the first one I've attended. I think the thing that impressed me the most was seeing the excitement of students in their relationship with the Lord. As an accounting professor, I don't often see much student enthusiasm for debits and credits. It was wonderful to see a different side of the students.

The conference speakers were excellent and humorous (I kept writing down jokes that I want to use in the classroom). The material presented was so important for our future Christian leaders, but it also applied to everyone (faculty included) who wants to grow as a Christian. The music was also wonderful.

The faculty advisors had several opportunities to meet together during the conference, including a lunch with Bob Horner. I look forward to seeing Bob (University of Washington), Susan (Montana State University), and Shelly (University of Alaska Anchorage) again!

I would strongly encourage other faculty advisors or CCC volunteers to attend the next conference. Sometimes we forget the bigger picture of what CCC is all about when we're just working with one campus, but the conference allows us to see how God is working in a mighty way on other campuses throughout the Northwest.
